I of course own its paid big brother but the free version is quite capable for most tasks. Klanghelm makes a killer tube compressor called the Mjuc Jr that I would find hard to live without. The distortion is thick and heavy and in many cases preferred to several of the paid alternatives. I don't know if this will work - you instantiate it as a plugin on your master.Įdit - the installer link for mac os-x on that link is broken. If you play any kind of hard rock or alternative, the Poulin Legion amp head is an absolute must coupled with of any of the numerous free cabinet simulators out there. cerberus audio ICE9 automute (i just found this and haven't tried it yet) use a monitor controller of some kind with a hardware always on always accessable volume dial readied for whatever destination you're sending your signal to so in the event of a sound blast you're always ready to rip that dial to zero as fast as possible. setting this up will require a limiter, testing and an spl meter. this way anything coming out of your interface D/A outputs can be limited to a safe level, let's say 90-100dB equivalent. use a hardware limiter prior to your monitors or monitor controller/router. i use RME / totalmix and have limiters engaged on all my main outs / headphone outs. use an interface that has control software where a limiter can be installed. To prevent damage from this (since it cannot be stopped or controlled and is totally random) i suggest 3 things: a plugin limiter on your stereo out / main outs in logic won't do a damn thing to this noise blast. The bug appears to be at the core audio level after the output from logic pro. there are long discussion threads about this and nobody knows what the root of it is to this day. absolutely nobody i've ever seen can say exactly why this happens, not even apple. i've had it happen a few times, on various logic versions. you can have third party plugins or NOT and it can still happen. This is a random problem that cannot be reproduced by any deliberate steps, and no matter what hardware setup or session settings or preferences you're running it can happen basically at any time. Using 32-bit and other plugins with Logic X (and Logic 9)Īligning regions: One track snaps to -25, the other snaps to -24.9? Educational content like tutorials is exempt from this rule.
